Follow on Google News | Ordinary Noise release new single 'You Are Here'Colchester four piece, Ordinary Noise unveil their new release 'You Are Here' on July 17.
By: The Playground PR Lou Terry (Vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Ross Connell (Electric guitar), Tim Tokley (Bass, guitar) and Jonny Poole (Saxophone, drums) firstmet whilst in different strands of education and have been together ever since. Little over two years ago, Ordinary Noise were playing venues in their hometown Colchester. Today they’re being played on Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service on BBC Radio 6and BBC Introducing, supporting anti-folk cult heroes Jeffrey Lewis and The Jrams and playing the mainstage at Hop Farm Festival. “The idea of this song is about the planet and how fragile it is. We were inspired by a video of the astronomer Carl Sagan discussing a photograph of the earth appearing as nothing but a tiny speck when taken from a satellite in orbit.” You Are Here’s verses remain expertly restrained before allowing the chorus to rupture into something distinctly powerful that has the hallmarks of the early folk pioneers. The track invites you on a journey of ambling guitars, rolling drums and the some of the most distinct vocals you’ll hear in 2015. Alt J elegance, Jake Bugg meets Jack Steadman warbles and an instrumental build up that screams Stone Roses make up the key components. Despite their years, there’s lyrical and musical maturity toitthat is beyond impressive and demands to be heard. You Are Here is the result of intense focus and natural musical ability that reaches to the heart of their artistic expression. A force to be reckoned with,Ordinary Noise stand boldly apart from other offerings of its kind.
