Love That Dress! & Goodwill, Too Event in River District

FORT MYERS, Fla. - June 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida is once again partnering with PACE Center for Girls, Lee for an evening of fun, fashion, and fundraising. The Love That Dress! & Goodwill, Too collection event will be held on Thursday, July 16 at the Goodwill Boutique on First (2401 First Street) in the River District. The event will take place from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m., immediately followed by an after party at Firestone’s.

“This donation collection event is a fun way for community members to support both organizations,” says Goodwill spokesperson Madison Mitchell. “All while having fun, of course!”

Attendees are encouraged to bring both a gently loved dress for Love That Dress! and other gently loved items for Goodwill.

The event will feature light refreshments, entertainment, a scavenger hunt with Goodwill gift certificates as the prizes, as well as a Chinese auction featuring $100 in gift certificates from Firestone’s, a private shopping experience at the Goodwill Boutique for 10 people and $100 Goodwill gift certificate, and more.

“PACE and Goodwill have forged a solid partnership over the past few years,” says Allyson Ross, special projects associate of PACE Center for Girls, Lee.  “We’ve found innovative and creative ways of serving and supporting each other’s mission.”

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. operates 30 Retail & Donation Centers in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, and Glades counties to provide funding for its mission of helping people with disabilities and disadvantages by providing life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.  Supported programs include Job-Link resource centers, youth mentoring and career guidance, transportation assistance, income-sensitive housing for people with disabilities and senior citizens, and the L.I.F.E. Academy Charter School.

This year’s Love That Dress! will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at the Embassy Suites in Estero, located at 10450 Corkscrew Commons Drive.

All proceeds from Love That Dress!7 will benefit PACE Center for Girls, Lee County. PACE is a non-residential program targeting the unique needs of girls, ages 12 to 18, facing challenges such as physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, foster care, neglect, death of a parent, family history of incarceration, truancy and declining grades.
