Follow on Google News | LPU & SPS Apollo Hospitals organized 6th Conference on Clinical Nursing•Conference was aimed to educate state nursing students on ‘Maternal and Child Health’
During different sessions of the conference, Dr Zeenie Sarda Girn, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SPS Hospitals, enlightened students about post natal and post operative care. Dr Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Senior Consultant, Department of Neonatology focused on the care of new born at birth. Dr Vikas Bansal, Senior Consultant, Department of Pediatrics discussed about Identification of Rhythm disturbances & treatment. Dr Zeenie explained that there are sometimes severe conditions during pregnancy. These are rare stages but affect about one in every 2,000 to 3,000 pregnancies. She informed that the common symptoms of first stage are swelling in face or hands, headaches, excessive weight gain, nausea, vomiting, urinating & vision problems. Similarly, for next stage these symptoms are convulsions, loss of consciousness and muscle pain. She alerted students to be very careful during such symptoms and should try hard to nab the symptoms in the first stage with immediate care. The conference served as an open platform to the receptive students and solved out all of their queries. The participating prestigious nursing institutes included Guru Nanak College of Nursing, Gopalpur; Government Nursing College Jalandhar; Durga School of Nursing & Pharmacy Ludhiana; Salvation Army Mac Robert School of Nursing Dhariwal; Nightingale College of Nursing Narangwal (Ldh)and SPS Hospitals Ludhiana. Nursing students were also trained through demonstrations, presentations and interactions. Participants got benefitted from exposure to new and novel topics, shared methods of improving care & underwent vital training. End
