James Barker Selected As A Finalist In The CCMA Spotlight Contest

LINDSAY, Ontario - June 22, 2015 - PRLog -- James Barker Band has been selected by The Country Music Association of Ontario as a finalist in the CCMA Spotlight Contest.

There are 9 finalists from across Canada eligible to win the performance spot. This online voting contest began Friday, June 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. and will close Monday, June 29 at 5:00 p.m. The winner will have the chance to play in Halifax, NS during Country Music Week in September 2015.

James Barker and his band are a very tight knit group of accomplished musicians from The City of Kawartha Lakes, who play consistently throughout Ontario at a host of bars, fairs, festivals and other reputable events.

His love of music started at age 4 with his first instrument – the fiddle. Playing at churches and fall fairs at such a young age made James comfortable on the stage and he decided that this was where he wanted to be. At age 12 James picked up the guitar and knew it held his future.

The James Barker Band was recently selected to perform at the CMAO New Faces Going Places Showcase with Michelle Wright, won a spot to perform at Havelock Jamboree 2015 and received over 10,000 online votes to earn a performance spot at Boots & Hearts 2015.

The James Barker Band provides an energetic and diverse show, playing a wide variety of musical styles, incorporating influences from classic and new country.  This is one band you will want to keep an eye on.
