Arizona Governor Doug Ducey Includes Snell & Wilmer Lawyer as Part of Delegation to Mexico City

PHOENIX - June 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that partner Carlos Sugich (http://www.swlaw.com/attorneys/carlos_sugich) was included as part of Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s Business Delegation to Mexico City from June 17-20, 2015.

The Delegation met with Mexican business leaders including a reception hosted by Carlos Slim and Mexican officials in an effort to bolster the state’s economic and diplomatic relationships with the country. Mexico is Arizona’s first trading partner. In 2014, Arizona’s total exports to Mexico were valued at $8.6 billion and imports from Mexico were valued at $7.3 billion. Visitors from Mexico spend an average of $7.3 million per day in the State of Arizona.

The firm sponsored a breakfast event during the three-day trip called, “Arizona-Mexico Business Opportunities,” that included presentations by business and industry leaders in both Arizona and Mexico and the signing of an agreement between KJZZ and Tecnológico de Monterrey for the establishment of the Mexico desk. The Delegation had over 30 members from a wide-range of industries including: transportation, construction, construction/government, consumer products, distribution services, economic development, education, government, healthcare, non-profit/environment, professional services, real estate, restaurant/retail, sports, telecommunications, tourism and utility.

Sugich is currently the U.S. Chair of the U.S.-Mexico Bar Association, through 2016. At Snell & Wilmer, he chairs the Mexico Cross-border Business industry group and manages the firm’s Los Cabos Office. Sugich is admitted to practice law in both the United States (Arizona) and throughout Mexico and practices primarily in the areas of real estate investment, financing, leasing and development in both the U.S. and Mexico. In addition, he regularly advises domestic and foreign clients in the documentation and organization of a variety of cross-border ventures in the U.S., Mexico and Latin America. Sugich has a law degree in Mexico from Universidad Automona de Guadalajara and an LL.M degree from New York University School of Law.
