Shermco Industries Achieves VPP Star

IRVING, Texas - June 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Shermco Industries announced today that the Irving, Texas corporate headquarters facility has achieved the coveted OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star status for worksite safety and health.

“We are proud to announce this major milestone for Shermco Industries. In practice, VPP sets performance-based criteria for a managed safety and health system and then assesses applicants against the criteria. OSHA’s verification includes an application review and a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts.  This program is supported by statistical evidence that shows an average reduction of days missed due to injury by about 50% among similar industries.

“This safety culture extends well beyond our Shermco headquarters facility, as the procedures, training and attitude of safe behavior affects all of our off-site technicians as well,” said Widup.
