ST. PAUL, Minn. - June 21, 2015 - PRLog -- 17 School of Rock Twin Cities students will be joined by 20 students from the School of Rock Australia as they embark on Shore Tour; a 2600-mile concert tour, performing eight shows in six cities over 10 days. The tour kicks off in St. Paul, MN on June 25, 2015 and as such, has been proclaimed “School of Rock Day” by St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.

Minnesota Music Café, located at 499 Payne Ave. in St. Paul, will host the free, all-ages, open to the public concert from 5-8pm on June 25, 2015. Families will enjoy rock music ranging from Paul Simon to Styx to Santana, performed by the St. Paul and Eden Prairie Schools of Rock. School of Rock Australia will rock the house with tunes of new Aussie rock bands as well as well-known bands from Down Under like AC/DC and Wolfmother.

“We’re thrilled to host School of Rock Australia in St. Paul for their first-ever U.S. performance,” said Stacey Marmolejo, Twin Cities School of Rock franchise owner. “I really hope the metro will come out en masse and show our colleagues from down under what a music-minded community we are. Given it’s free and it’s early in the evening, it’ll be a great family-friendly event.”

SoR Australia is so excited to fly over to the United States to share our love for music,” said Ken Martin, School of Rock Australia franchise owner. “We’re looking forward to experiencing the music scene in Minnesota and look forward to this city being our introduction into US culture and grandeur.”

The next morning, the rockers load into the tour bus bound for Milwaukee, WI, where School of Rock Shore Tour intersects with School of Rock OnTour@ Summerfest. A pre-festival rock party will take place on Friday, June 26, at Horny Goat Hideaway for students to engage with special guests in a performance environment. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will include the chance for students to work and play with celebrity guest musicians including James Williamson (Iggy Pop), Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson, Jeff Beck), and many more.

On June 27th and 28th, over 500 student performers from 34 different School of Rock locations, including the Twin Cities and Australia, will showcase their musical talents across five stages at Summerfest, the biggest music festival in the world.

“Every year, we bring out the most dedicated student performers for a chance to step into the spotlight at Summerfest,” said School of Rock CEO, Dzana Homan. “We’re proud to present an exciting lineup of accomplished young musicians to play their hearts out in front of thousands of festivalgoers, friends, and family members. Every student will take home the greatest prize, a milestone of personal growth on their path toward musical excellence.”

From Summerfest the Shore Tour continues East to perform at the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, followed by two days of performances at the family-resort destination of Wildwood, NJ. Then the performers head back toward home with a stop at a music festival in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 2. The tour closes over July 4th weekend with live performances at the 34th Annual American Music Festival in Chicago, IL.

“At School of Rock we believe the stage is the greatest teacher of all, and our students are constantly rising to new heights through their hard work and real performances in a variety of rock venues from local clubs like Triple Rock and festivals like Grand Old Day to Summerfest stages and touring across the country AND around the world,” said Marmolejo.
