Follow on Google News | PB PHOTO CENTRE Invites Public to Several FREE Events During BEST IN SHOW FESTIVAL, June 26-28By: PR-BS, Inc Public is Invited to Several FREE Events Including Opening of POYi's Visions of Excellence Exhibition, TED-Style Talks & Panel Discussions (West Palm Beach, FL – June 18, 2015) Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the world-renowned Palm Beach Photographic Centre (PBPC), today announced that the upcoming 2015 Best in Show Festival (June 26-28) would include several free events to which the public is invited. The annual Best in Show Festival will feature pictures and photojournalists that were honored at this year’s POYi (Pictures of the Year International) The public is invited to participate in several free events during the Best in Show Festival: Friday, June 26: CELEBRATE + 6 to 8 pm: Opening reception for the Visions of Excellence exhibition. Also the premiere of the BiS’15 movie A Thousand Pictures Tell a Thousand and One Stories (showing every POYi 2015 winner), with interludes from the 2015 POYi premier winners present. Saturday, June 27: ILLUMINATE + ILLUSTRATE + INSPIRE Education Day will include both “Ted Talk” style presentations by POYi award winners past and present and a panel discussion. + Noon to 1 pm: Brad Vest from The Commercial Appeal, 2015 POYi Newspaper Photographer of the year. + 1 to 2 pm: Lisa Krantz from the San-Antonio Express News, a multiple POYi 2015 award-winner, who will discuss her sensitive but provocative look at one man’s battle with obesity. + 2:30 to 5:30 pm: 2015 Pulitzer Prize winners Lynden Steele and Laurie Skirvian from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch will share their experiences covering the tragic shooting and subsequent protest in Ferguson, MO. Sunday, June 28: EDUCATION + ENLIGHTEN + + Noon to 3 pm: Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite Website and share it as the price of admission to the fast-paced Workshop on Best Visual Websites. This candid how-to workshop is for both professional photographers and anyone who loves great photography. A panel of editors who assign and and license imagery will discuss Best Business Practices for Photographers Websites. Scott Mc Kiernan will moderate the panel in partnership with ASMP (American Society of Media Professionals) About the Palm Beach Photographic Centre: The Palm Beach Photographic Centre is a 501(c)3 nonprofits arts organization dedicated to the enhancement of community through the photographic arts.
