A Rare Production-Used Star Wars Clapperboard highlights The Memorabilia Vault's Summer Auction

NEW YORK - June 20, 2015 - PRLog -- With the upcoming release of “Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens” interest in memorabilia and props from the saga have continued to grow. Props and production used items from the original trilogy garner the most interest and are some of the most sought-after, rarest and hardest to obtain items in the Star Wars collectors universe. In 2011 a camera used to film “Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope” sold for over $600,000, more recently a “Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back” Clapperboard sold for almost $40,000 and a screen used T.I.E. Fighter sold for over $400,000 several years ago.

Currently The Memorabilia Vault is holding an auction on their website, www.thememorabiliavault.com, which features a production-used clapperboard from “Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.” The clapperboard has an auction estimate of $10,000 - $15,000 but, based on past sales of Star Wars production-used items, it could fetch much more.

The Memorabilia Vault states: "We are very excited to have such a rare and unique item such as the ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ clapperboard we currently have up for sale in our summer auction. We believe there will be a lot of interest in this item and hope it ends up with someone who will cherish it."

Other highlights from the auction include:

A crystal glove worn by Michael Jackson that he gifted to Senator Royal L. Bolling for his support over the years. The glove is accompanied by a letter signed by Bob Jones on MJJ Productions letterhead, which explains the glove's history, as well as a letter of authenticity.

Tupac Shakur's personal signed stock certificate for his shares in his company, 2PACALYPSE Entertainment Inc.

A sketch of Mickey Mouse created by Michael Jackson which originates from The Jacksons Auction which took place in 2007.

A giant shirt screen worn by the character Hagrid in “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone.”

The auction also features many other items and includes over 50 items from the life and career of Michael Jackson.
