Writing Submissions Are Being Accepted For A Year In Ink Volume 9

June 19, 2015 - PRLog -- San Diego writers interested in getting their work published have the opportunity to submit poetry and prose works to the San Diego Writers, Ink’s Anthology: A Year in Ink Volume 9. A Year in Ink (YII) is an anthology of the creative work of San Diego County writers, published each year by San Diego Writers, Ink. The annual publication represents a sampling of the tangible results of the community’s diligent scribblers.

Volume 9 will include short stories, novel and memoir excerpts, creative nonfiction, satire, flash fiction, and poetry. Every year the Anthology authors are a diverse group of young and old who are new writers and much-published veterans.

SDWI receives numerous submissions each summer; and the group follows a blind submission process; authors are not identified until the selection process ends.

Submissions will be accepted through July 15, 2015 and will close promptly at midnight.

To showcase the vibrant, dedicated San Diego writing community, the publication will be limited to residents of San Diego County. Former San Diego Writers, Ink members who currently live outside the area are also invited to submit. All work must be previously unpublished.

Poets can submit be up to three poems, single-spaced in generic font with a maximum 35 lines per poem.

Prose writers may submit fiction, creative nonfiction, and memoir and novel excerpts, double-spaced in generic font. There is a maximum 3,500 word count per piece and no more than two entries per author.

Flash Fiction writers may submit a maximum of three pieces, each piece having a 1,000 word maximum.

There is no reading fee for current San Diego Writers, Ink members. If you are a resident of San Diego County and not a member, we charge $5.00 per entry (an entry constitutes a category so you can submit up to three poems for $5, up to 2 prose pieces for $5 and up to 3 Flash fiction pieces for $5–for a total of $15 if you submitted at least one item to each category) to SDWI to help support our volunteer-driven effort.  SDWI is a nonprofit organization and we are grateful for your support.
