Synopsis:Damon Gyles, a talented Deltan Soarer pilot in the Delta-Linus stellar navy, becomes disillusioned with his latest career move to the Militia when he realizes the specialized training he is receiving is to be used to commit cold-blooded murder…

…and this grates against his conscience.

Lord Morgan pulls no punches in his blood-thirsty quest for supremacy over the Megna-Terran galaxy. But he could not foresee the impact of betrayal by his subordinate, Damon Gyles, a hot-shot Deltan pilot who has been forced to fight hand-to-hand combat in the rings, then escapes.

When Damon saves the lives of Isolde family members, he is forced to choose sides. Thrust into interplanetary battles, personal wars, and battles of wills, Damon finds friends among enemies, and betrayal among friends. Allies come to Damon’s aid as the tug-of-war over galactic rule spans light years and human years. Armed with the best of ships, and bonded with warriors by blood battles, Damon works to restore order in a world gone mad with the tyranny of Morgan’s reign. However, the worst conflict of all might be his developing feelings evoked by the spit-fire Cassia Isolde—whose brothers don’t seem to trust him. As relationships develop among the leaders of the Interstellar Council and the Deltan, the depths of faith among friends from different worlds is tested.

In a rush of intergalactic hydraulics, worlds explode with the forces of powerful men fighting just and unjust causes. Aided by androids and aliens with special abilities, Damon moves in for the final encounter—to save the Intergalactic alliance by recovering the kidnapped Chief Consul. Heroes fall, but by wit and clever ruses, the Isoldes gain ground. However, the tenacious Morgan dominates more planets and his murderous tactics spread, as he continues his trials to overcome Isolde’s initiative. Ultimately, only one side can win.
