FORT MYERS, Fla. - June 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Pason Gaddis, Co-Founder and CEO of Florida Media Group, will discuss his new crowd-sourcing app, “NewsByMe,” at the next luncheon meeting of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Southwest Florida Chapter (http://www.fpraswfl.org). Gaddis will make the presentation on the innovative app from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at Florida SouthWestern State College.

“NewsByMe” is a mobile app committed to news “by people, for people.” It is the world’s first dedicated mobile news app. The app is a simple-to-use and effective application that transforms users into reporters, delivering grassroots reports easily – incorporating text messages, photos, and video – in real time from any mobile device worldwide. “NewsByMe” is working to transform the way we report and consume news.

Gaddis is a career news media executive.  In 2007 he launched Florida Weekly, a newsmagazine that engages sophisticated readers throughout several markets in Florida.  Florida Weekly connects with more than 200,000 weekly readers in print, on smartphones and tablets, on social media, and online.

In addition to the presentation by Gaddis, the luncheon meeting will function as the FPRA Southwest Florida Chapter’s annual meeting and election of officers for the 2015-2016 year.

The cost for attending the meeting is $25 for members, $30 for non-members and $15 for students. It will take place at Building AA-177 at Florida SouthWestern State College, 8099 College Parkway in Fort Myers (visit www.fsw.edu (https://www.fsw.edu/about/maps) for campus map). Guests must RSVP online at www.fpraswfl.org (http://www.fpraswfl.org/event-registration/).
