Handmade Gift Inspires Thriving South Florida Business

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - June 12, 2015 - PRLog -- When Sabine Sarah Robic-Myara created a handmade body scrub for her mother, she never considered it would turn into a thriving South Florida business specializing in handmade, all-natural skincare products.

“My mom has always worked hard and told me to believe in myself,” said Robic-Myara, a licensed esthetician and laser hair removal technician. “I wanted to make something special for Mother’s Day while celebrating my mom’s North African heritage, so I created what’s now known as our Moroccan Mint & Green Tea scrub.”

When she gave the scrub to her mom, Monique Myara-Kormos, she cried and was excited to get something handmade by her daughter.

“I was touched because it was so different from any gift she’d ever given me,” Myara-Kormos said. “Sabine was actually born on Mother’s Day. She was the perfect gift, and she carries on that tradition through her wonderful body scrubs.”

It wasn’t long after when friends and family took notice and started requesting skincare products—which inspired Robic-Myara to create a full line of body scrubs and oils and establish Scrubalicious Bodyworks in November 2014.

Finding Success & Helping Others

Being a small business owner means Robic-Myara manages a multitude of tasks ranging from maintaining her company’s online presence and pursuing new product ideas to ensuring a well-stocked inventory and promoting seasonal offerings. She also participates in area craft fairs and markets and explores new opportunities that take her outside her comfort level—all of which have helped her grow both personally and professionally.

“I love being my own boss and bringing my ideas to fruition,” said Robic-Myara, who also credits her mom for keeping her motivated. “Running a business takes dedication, and to find success, you must always bring your best.”

She’s passionate about creating quality products, helping others, and growing her business. In fact, the next task on her entrepreneurial to-do list is expanding her product line to include body lotions, lip balms, and more. And while every day brings new challenges, Robic-Myara values the lessons she’s learned along the way. She’s realized that it’s not necessarily about the products she makes, but how her products make people feel.

“I was insecure about my skin when I was younger,” she said. “I can relate to others who are in similar situations, which is why it’s important to me to help others look and feel their best.”

Helping others just comes naturally to Robic-Myara, which is why in the one year she’s been in business, she’s already given back to the South Florida community by donating items to the Children's Fund for Glycogen Storage Disease, In Jacob’s Shoes®, and B'Nai Torah Ruth and Edward Taubman Early Childhood Center PTO.
