June 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Over one hundred 7on7 games, Lineman Challenge, Long Snapping, Punting, and Kicking competitions take place July 18 in Wake Forest NC as two thousand of the states top High School and youth athletes compete for the pre-season football State Championships and the NFL Punt Pass and Kick.

This years championships will be live streamed broadcast with Special guests: Andrus Peat, 2015 NFL first round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints, and former North Carolina “Greats” Natrone Means, former NFL Pro Bowl running back and member of the San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary Team, Lawrence Taylor, NFL Hall of Fame inductee, 2-time Super Bowl champion, 10-time NFL Pro Bowl selectee, former AP NFL MVP, and 3-time AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and many other current and former NFL players.

Earlier this year the National Youth Football Organization’s Kyle Auffray, who is also the Tight End for the Oakland Raider’s held the South Carolina 7 on 7 State Championship in Spartanburg, SC. In a sidebar chat with Bob Winstead; North Carolina resident and NYFO Founder, friendly “trash talk” broke out regarding what state had the best football teams. As a result, Winstead agreed to allow one SC High School to compete in the North Carolina Championship. Although Winstead would not name the team, it was disclosed that the SC team is nationally ranked and has one of the top running backs in the country. “I’m proud of the talent we have in both states and I am an advocate for both. I am confident that South Carolina’s best will give some of the NC teams a fit, but it will be a real battle as they face back to back State Champions Southern Durham, the air attack of Davidson Day and other great football programs housed in North Carolina. It’s going to be a great day of football”, says Winstead.

National Youth Football Organization, various businesses, chambers of commerce, media outlets, and community organizations join forces to run the North Carolina 7 on 7 State Championship on the 3rd weekend of July each year. The 7 on 7 State Championship aids the sports community in improving its commitment to promoting high school and youth football in North Carolina.

Organizers of the 7 on 7 State Championship in North Carolina follows the example of similar tournaments in other states which have a healthy impact on the local economy. The “big” sister tournament in Texas has approximately a $1 million impact on its local economy during its 3 day event. This is the 3rd year the event has been hosted by Wake Forest, NC. Last year the tournament had over 2,000 athletes, 300+ high school coaches and their families and fans. The local economy feels the impact and the organizers are excited about the future.

This year’s tournament guarantees each team 6 games. Varsity teams are separated in four divisions, while JV teams and 14U/Middle School teams will have only one division each. To promote team and state unity, the tournament also includes the State Championships for:  1) Kicking, 2) Punting, 3) Long-Snapping, and a 4) Lineman Challenge. All events are free with the exception of a $50 referee fee for the 7 on 7 tournament. The weekend also includes other activities for players and fans.

This year’s tournament is an open invitation for NC football teams of all divisions. Several teams have already signed up for the tournament as to not miss out on the tournaments 50-team cap. It is shaping up to be another fantastic kick off to the 2015 football season. Coaches can register their teams at www.7on7StateChampionship.com .

The North Carolina 7 on 7 State Championship committee is a division of the (National Youth Football Organization of North Carolina) and a compilation of advocates committed to excellence for players, coaches, and families involved with the sport of football in the state of North Carolina. We are devoted to assuring our players, coaches, parents, and fans have equal or better resources and opportunities as it pertains to other programs around the United States. Together we will build a football CULTURE in North Carolina second to NONE
