A Step in the Right direction for the struggling small town of Newburgh, NY

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - June 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Life Stations Centers of Excellence (LifeCoE) today announced that it is hosting the first Annual Hudson Valley Career & Job Fair on June 16, 2015 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center, in Newburgh New York. A variety of employers from both the public and private sectors will be eager to hire for immediate openings in a wide range of fields.

With an unemployment rate of 6.1%, the small city of Newburgh has been struggling to get its residents back to work, and the fair comes at a good time.

The Hudson Valley Career & Job Fair, which connects Newburgh’s talented workers with employers looking to hire, is a critical part of our efforts to strengthen our economy and support a strong middle class," said Life Stations Founder, Leslie Haskin." We’re helping to build a stronger, more innovative community and Hudson Valley."

The fair is unprecedented. In addition to bringing in top employers from throughout the tri-state area, Life Stations will be conducting workshops on resume writing and interviewing techniques and giving away free suits to applicants..

"We are bringing together business and our community's skilled workforce to help positively impact Newburgh’s economic vitality," said Councilwoman Gay Lee, who is co-sponsoring this event with Life Stations. "I’m excited to work with Life Stations to help bring some hope back to our community. This fair not only supports our economy, it builds the community as well.”

An energetic, fast-growing global organization, Life Stations is also rolling out summer programs for the youth, a 2-day camp for teenagers and a civilian team on the streets to reduce the crime rate and the number of arrests in the community. Its Go Time, said Haskin.
