Follow on Google News | Smart Partnership is Meeting DemandBy: Utilities Academy The Utilities Academy and specialist global recruiters to the energy industry, Spencer Ogden, are working together to supply technical savvy and hard-to-find dual fuel smart meter engineering talent to the energy and utilities market. The 40 individuals have been through the Academy’s training to work scheme which guarantees an interview for a 23 month smart metering contract with an energy or utilities company looking for skilled and knowledgeable smart meter engineers. Daniel Coleman, managing director at the Utilities Academy says: “Over the next 5 years, 30 million gas and electric smart meters will need to be installed across the UK with hundreds of engineers needed to complete the work. We have developed a win, win offering that not only develops a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, but through our unique links with industry ensures they are job ready.” With the first 40 employed the Utilities Academy has forward orders from utility and energy companies with a further 150 engineers which is expected to double before the end of autumn. Our training is fast becoming well recognised as the solution for the industry to ensure smart meter technology deployment in the UK is delivered.
