KANSAS CITY, Mo. - June 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Though not the first new project the New York City-based troubadour has debuted in Kansas City, “Last Bus of the Night: A Revue” is more personal than anything he has ever recorded or performed.

The performance of “Last Bus of the Night: A Revue” includes readings from an upcoming book about his life, also titled Last Bus of the Night, combined with Coyle’s original and never-before-heard songs.

The Revue will bow on June 27th from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Writer’s Place at 3607 Pennsylvania. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $15. Visit http://dancoyle.com/tickets to purchase.

Coyle tours constantly, averaging more than 100 live performances per year all over the United States and Canada. In 2011 he toured throughout Europe and recorded a new album there. He has performed in major festivals and appeared frequently on live television. Perfect Word. Perfect Beat is his latest EP and is referred to as “an especially dynamic record.”

“If you’ve seen me over the past few years in KCMO, you’ve also seen Dane Davenport and John Keck,” Coyle said. “These two wonderful artists will be performing a selection of songs. The reading will be done by the book’s author, Alex Greenwood, and a great Kansas City actor, Bob Allen.”

The two additional musicians have a different focus in the music industry adding to Coyle’s musical talents. Davenport is a singer and songwriter in post indie folk rock. Keck is a Kansas City songwriter who writes lyrics with the goal of capturing emotion and depicting a moment in time.

With the help of Kansas City-based author and former actor Alex Greenwood, Coyle used the working manuscript of Last Bus of the Night, which chronicles Dan's adventures as a touring musician to create this one of a kind musical experience. Greenwood will be participating in the reading as well as Allen, a noted local performer and businessman.

"The performance will feature two actors, Bob and Alex," Coyle said. "One is a narrator, acting as a storyteller, opinion giver, and guide. The other is 'my voice,' reading excerpts of interviews I’ve given that correspond to the story the narrator is telling."

Coyle added that the reading sections are short, between one and four minutes. Each reading is followed by two or three original songs, which fit the time or mood of the reading.

"The songs will be amplified by a 'mini-orchestra', which may include strings, piano, electric guitar, light percussion, and more," Coyle said.

Other local musicians include cellist Christine Broxterman, pianist Wayne Alexander and bass player Rick Long.

The venue for this intimate premier is The Writer’s Place, a stunning gallery and performance space located in the center of Kansas City. Doors open at 5:30 and the performance begins at 6pm.

Guests are invited to BYOB for the performance. Samples of Apricot Wit (A light Belgian beer) andIPA (India Pale Ale) will be offered by The Brewkery. An after party at a separate location will follow at 10 p.m., tickets are sold separately .
