DALLAS - June 11, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, June 26, the Collin County Business Alliance (CCBA) will host its annual Mayoral Summit featuring keynote speaker and author of The Solution Revolution, William D. Eggers, a six-person mayoral panel discussion with mayors from Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, Richardson and Wylie, and business-government round tables.

Between 2000 and 2014, Collin County grew by 80 percent to a population of about 900,000. By 2045, the population is projected to grow to more than 2.1 million people. CCBA will bring together a unique platform for elected officials and local government representatives from across the region to discuss these issues and brainstorm solutions to the challenges facing the growth and prosperity of Collin County. Business and community leaders and influencers will come together at the summit to work toward finding solutions, including areas where public and private partnerships can collaborate to ensure the county’s future remains vibrant.

“As one of the leading voices of business in the community, CCBA strives to keep business leaders, elected officials and the general public engaged in local and statewide issues,” said Capital One Financial Services President and CCBA Chairman, Sanjiv Yajnik. “Collin County is one of the fastest growing counties in Texas, and it is crucial to the progression of the region that we alter our focus toward creating a plan to initiate positive growth and a clear vision for the region’s next 20 – 30 years.”

The summit begins at 10 AM on June 26th with business-government round tables focusing on the issues at large: education, transportation and water. Round table attendees will address questions such as: “What are the options for maintaining our existing systems and building new capacity? How can business and government work together to ensure we have the roads and water needed to keep up with the growing population and employment base? How can leaders from business, government and education collaborate and innovate to help students become college and career ready?”

The featured keynote speaker presentation begins at 11:30 AM with William D. Eggers, a distinguished author and government consultant who will provide insight on government  reform and restructuring. Each attendee will receive a free signed copy of Eggers’ book.

The mayoral panel begins at noon and will feature six mayors from the largest cities in Collin County. The panel, moderated by Dallas Business Journal Editor Paul O’Donnell, will address top issues facing each city’s challenges and discuss possible opportunities. Each mayor will offer viewpoints on developing a collaborative, regional approach to maintain the high quality of life and vibrant business community within Collin County.

“We need to plan for and shape our vibrant county. But our local governments and city officials can’t do it alone. We need your help, your voices, your ideas, your active involvement during this year’s summit. Business leaders have to step up, collaborate and find innovative solutions to these issues to ensure our county has the necessary tools available to continue down our path of strong growth.”

The summit begins at 10 AM with the round table discussions. The keynote presentation begins at 11:30 AM followed by the special panel discussion and luncheon with the mayors from 12 PM – 1:30PM. The event will be hosted at the Capital One Plano Conference Center located 8036 Dominion Parkway in Plano. Tickets are $35/person.
