CHARLESTON, S.C. - June 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Know of someone working out and not losing a pound?   Have a friend that wants to increase their workout results?   The VO2Max test may help both of them, and it is being offered at a reduced rate for one day- June 19th- at FitMed Partners.  Dr. Bright McConnell, III of FitMed Partners and Charleston Sports Medicine explains, “The VO2Max test is an excellent indicator of cardiovascular fitness. This can help a person determine if they are working out to their full potential, which in turn can help with weight loss and performance.”  While seen in the past as a test for serious athletes, exercise physiologist Anne Moore explains it can help many more.  She states, “VO2Max is a good fit for someone who is just starting a cardiovascular workout regime as well as the athlete looking to take their training to the next level.”

The VO2Max is a graded exercise test administered on the treadmill or exercycle and takes about twenty minutes.   An exercise physiologist increases the intensity while measuring oxygen and carbon dioxide concentration.  VO2Max is determined when oxygen levels become steady despite an increase in intensity.  The VO2Max test will be offered at a reduced rate, ($100) on June 19th.   The testing will take place in a medical office environment, as opposed to a gym.  This is an advantage says Moore, “It is helpful to have results explained by a exercise physiologist in a medical office environment.   Some gyms offer these tests, but you want to make sure the person administering it is trained to read the results properly.” For more information, log onto http://www.fitmedpartners.com/five-ways-men-can-get-fit-now-mens-health-week/.  To schedule a June 19th appointment, call 843-284-5200.
