Lifetime Montessori school Art Show & Silent Auction Raises $10,000!

SAN DIEGO - June 10, 2015 - PRLog -- On Saturday, April 18, Lifetime Montessori school in Del Sur held their annual fundraiser. This year, staff and parents worked side by side to coordinate this fabulous fundraiser. Parents had a chance to see their toddler and preschoolers’ matted art on the school’s gallery walls prior to the auction and had an opportunity to bid on the matted art. Then, during the event, a new Silent Auction format was introduced. This year, many items were gift baskets—and themed gift baskets at that. For example, the attendees were able to bid against baskets such as: a beach basket loaded with towels, chairs, toys and suntan lotion or a golf basket with clubs, balls and accessories. The attendees were able to bid, buy and take their themed basket home.

All proceeds will benefit the school’s teachers who will attend special Montessori art and music workshops and staff development courses during a summer retreat held at Association Montessori Internationale.

Staff and parents worked together coordinating this year’s fundraiser. Held at the Del Sur Ranch House, this adult-only event had several ‘firsts,’ including informal ‘meet and greet’.

Parents dressed up, mingled with old friends and met new ones. And, there wasn’t a child around!

Among the night’s highlights was a La Costa Resort Gift Card basket that netted $650. A fully catered party was auctioned for nearly $400. And, the many ‘gift baskets’ prepared by parents that contained multiple themed prizes were well received.

Lifetime Montessori serves Poway, Scripps Ranch and 4S Ranch.
The school serves 150 students from toddlers and preschoolers to elementary school students. It is one of four accredited Maria Montessori San Diego schools and is considered the best preschool in Poway and Scripps Ranch.
