Dinosaur Discovery Museum Announces: Dino Digs! Free, Fun, Weekend Activity, For Kids, In Kenosha!

The Dinosaur Discovery Museum, Kenosha, WI, has just the thing to activate the imagination and inspire the adventurer in everyone!

Kids, ages 3 and up, will have a Giganotosaurus good time donning a pair of safety goggles, and working with paleontologist tools to dig for dinosaur fossils in a simulated excavation site. Dino Digs, is the ultimate hands on, family friendly activity, and is FREE and open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 4pm, Dino Digs is just one of many free family activities provided to the public by the Kenosha Public Museum, Dinosaur Discovery Museum, and Civil War Museums, located in Kenosha, WI.

The only museum to exclusively focus on the link between birds and meat-eating dinosaurs, the Dinosaur Discovery Museum, has one of the most complete known fossil records in the nation. The Museum collaborates with the Carthage Institute of Paleontology (http://www.kenosha.org/wp-dinosaur/education/carthage-ins...) (CIP) and its on-site laboratory in research, field work, and educational programs. This unique association aids the Dinosaur Discovery Museum in presenting the most current, ongoing research in the study of dinosaurs, and the collection and preservation of dinosaur specimens for its research collections.

So break out your inner archeologist and dig into the fun at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum’s Dino Digs from 1-4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. The Dinosaur Discovery Museum welcomes schools, organizations, and other children’s groups to take advantage of one of our guided tours. Our programs are well-suited for children of all ages. The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is open Tuesdaythrough Sunday, Noon to 5 pm; Closed Mondays year round.

Thesister museums, the Kenosha Public Museum, a Natural Sciences, Fine Arts, and Decorative Arts Museum, and the Civil War Museum, share a campus along the beautiful Lake Michigan Shoreline, are located just a short, nostalgic, trolley car ride, away, and are open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sundays noon to 5pm.
