Follow on Google News | Oakland University choral ensemble to perform with the Rolling StonesThe Oakland University Chorale will accompany the Rolling Stones in a July 8 performance at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit.
“Our students will be performing with a band as famous as any in the world,” said Oakland University Chorale Conductor, Dr. Michael Mitchell. “Being chosen to sing alongside the Rolling Stones is a thrill for us and to perform at a venue like Comerica Park makes it even more exciting.” The Oakland University Chorale is the elite touring choral ensemble in Oakland University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. The group maintains a busy concert schedule, which includes frequent appearances with the university’s resident orchestra, the Oakland Symphony Orchestra. The chorale has toured extensively throughout the state and region, as well as to New York and Texas in recent years. The Rolling Stones’ Zip Code Tour kicked off May 24 in San Diego and concludes on July 15 in Quebec City.
