CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - June 9, 2015 - PRLog -- WHAT: On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 Beat Brasserie (aka Beat Hotel), located in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, presents a musical tribute to living legend Chick Corea with an evening of live performance from Bruce Bartlett featuring the talents of Steve Hunt, John Lockwood, and Marty Richards.

A DownBeat Hall of Famer and NEA Jazz Master, Chick Corea has had an astonishing musical career spanning over five decades. He’s the fourth-most-nominated artist in the history of the Grammy Awards with 63 nominations and 22 wins, as well as 3 Latin Grammy Awards. With a tirelessly creative spirit, Chick has created music from straight ahead to avant-garde, bebop to fusion, children's songs to chamber music, along with some far-reaching forays into symphonic works. A living legend, he continues to forge ahead, continually reinventing himself in the process.

To celebrate his accomplishments and influence on the musical world, Bruce Bartlett accompanied by the great Steve Hunt (Alan Holdworth) on keyboards, John Lockwood on bass and Marty Richards on drums, will perform music from Corea’s many recordings from 8:00PM to 12:00AM. Bartlett and Corea, both natives to Chelsea, MA and great friends, have played together in the past, creating a personal connection that will radiate throughout the performance.

While enjoying the show, guests are welcome to a full dinner with selections such as the Chargrilled Calamari ($13.50), Wedge Salad Bowl, with your choice of protein, iceburg lettuce, fried onions, tomatoes and maytag blue cheese vinaigrette ($18-24.50), and Roasted Haddock with spinach, white bean puree, lemon, za’atar spice, and capers ($24).  The Beat’s acclaimed wine list offers an extensive selection of 36 American artisanal wines on tap and an acclaimed reserve list.  Guests can also celebrate with craft cocktails such as the Plimoth Daiquiri made with Privateer White rum, Barrow’s ginger liqueur and pumpkin spiced simple syrup ($12) and the Smokey The Bear made with Old Overholt, Amere Nouvelle, Vya Sweet Vermouth and Balcones Brimstone Whisky ($13).
