LONDON - June 9, 2015 - PRLog -- As the buzz builds around The Syn’s new Live Rosfest CD/DVD release (and the corresponding reissue of three older Syn albums), several new items have emerged on the Internet, including a comprehensive blog, a video and a brand new review.

Formed in 1965, The Syn was a precursor of the band Yes, with that band’s bassist Chris Squire as one of the founding members. At various times The Syn has also included Yes alums Peter Banks and Alan White in their lineup. The band recently released The Syn Live Rosfest on Umbrello Records (distribution by NOVA / Universal). The album is being well received worldwide. The Syn Live Rosfest is a live CD recorded in 2009 at Rosfest in Philadelphia on the Syn’s Big Sky tour. It also includes a bonus DVD featuring two films “The Syn in the 21st Century” and “The Making of Big Sky.”  To coincide with the release of  The Syn Live Rosfest, three older Syn albums (Syndestructible, Original Syn and Big Sky) have been re-released.

New Zealand writer Paul Watson has recently published that blog. The comprehensive piece charts the 50 year history of the band from their beginnings in London to the present. It also includes an interview with Syn front man Steve Nardelli. It also includes some video clips. The blog is located at progarchy.com/2015/05/30/new-album-the-syn-live-rosfest-by-paul-watson.

Also, a new video has been posted online. It’s an excerpt (or “extract” or snippet”) from the new The Syn in the 21st Century documentary. That documentary is one of the videos included on the DVD that accompanies Live Rosfest. The video can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsUiQMGeeyw.

A brand new review of Live Rosfest has been posted at MWE3, as well. Written by Robert Silverstein, that article also has a definite retrospective and “looking forward” aspect to it. In the review, Silverstein says, “Yet another sonic bolt out of the blue by the mercurial Steve Nardelli, The Syn Live Rosfest will do quite nicely…” The full review can be found at .mwe3.com/reviews/SynRosfest/.

Syndestructible was originally released in 2005. The lineup on the set was Steve Nardelli, Chris Squire, Gerard Johnson and brothers Paul and Jeremy Stacy. Mark Stephens of Prog Positivity said “From songwriting to arrangements, and vocals and instrumentation, everything on Syndestructible is sublimely understated, creating a uniquely disarming and sensitive brand of art-rock music.”

Another 2005 release, Original Syn is a double disc set. Musicians on the album include Andrew Pryce Jackman and Gerard Johnson (keys),  Steve Nardelli, Chris Slater, Denny Ward, Ayshea Brough (vocals), Martyn Adelman, Gunnar Hákonarson and John Bowring (drums), Peter Banks, James Nisbet, John Wheatley and John Painter (guitar) and Chris Squire and Steve Gee (bass). The first disc is made up quite literally of Original Syn music from the 1960s, while the second  include new (at the time) music from the reformed Syn.

Big Sky originally saw a 2009 release and features a core lineup of cofounder/band leader Steve Nardelli, Francis Dunnery (ex-It Bites) and Tom Brislin (currently touring with Renaissance). Robert Silverstein of 20th Century Guitar said, “With ten tracks clocking in at 54 minutes, on Big Sky many musical treasures can be discovered on a big musical canvas.”
