WHITEHALL, Ohio - June 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) Local 200 Member Action Committee (MAC) joined forces with Rebuilding Together to make home repairs for a local family. Rebuilding Together is a nationwide initiative that provides home rehabilitation to homeowners in need.

When retired IKORCC member and President of Whitehall City Council Jim Graham mentioned the project, Local 200 members were eager to step up and volunteer. IKORCC Carpenters are passionate about giving back to their communities, and they knew this was a project they couldn’t pass up.

13 MAC Carpenters and their families dedicated an entire day to building a new fence and replacing siding on the home.

Chris Sanders, a member who worked on the home, commented, “Giving back to our community is so gratifying. We are glad we can put our skills and training to good use - especially to make someone’s life easier.”

Michael Freeman, IKORCC Representative, added, “Since we worked on this for a day, it seems like one of our smaller projects. But honestly, to individuals who cannot afford to fix a fence or replace siding, it was huge. It was a great feeling to be able to help.”

The IKORCC volunteers for Rebuilding Together across the state, and Union Locals volunteer in local communities where they reside.
