Yahoo! and Live Nation to broadcast Saving Abel live worldwide from Schmitt’s Saloon

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - June 8, 2015 - PRLog -- June 10, 2015 – Be a part of a worldwide broadcast at Schmitt's Saloon. Live Nation will be broadcasting a live concert of Saving Abel on Yahoo Live.

“This is huge for Morgantown and the saloon both. Everyone in the world will be exposed to our city and our venue,” said Owner Owen Schmitt. “The buzz about Schmitt’s Saloon is growing throughout the music industry,” said Todd King, partner and operations manager, Schmitt’s Saloon. “I have had so many calls, emails, and texts from booking agents and managers from all over the country since they heard about this. This event, combined with the Ronnie Dunn charity concert featured in Billboard magazine has put Schmitt’s Saloon on the music lover’s map, nationwide.”

Saving Abel hails from Mississippi and Tennessee, which allows them to bring a unique southern touch to the music they create. When asked about the story behind the band and their name, Jason Null, one of the founding members, said “We’re just a group of country boys that get to support ourselves doing what we love.” Saving Abel’s distinct southern influence could be heard in their first album Saving Abel and in their 2008 hit single, Addicted. These self-proclaimed “high-strung rock and rollers from the South” blend a southern sound with all of the edge hard rock has to offer.

This will be the the band's third visit to the saloon. Scotty Austin, Saving Abel's lead singer said, "Owen has become a great friend of the band and supported us through thick and thin. All the beautiful scenery, crazy fans, and amazing food makes Morgantown and Schmitt's Saloon feel like a second home for us. Tour manager, Nic has been with the band on every visit, he said "We have always loved playing at the saloon. The people of Morgantown and surrounding area are amazing and have always been great to us. So when this opportunity came up to do a live stream with Yahoo, we could think of no better place than Schmitt's."

Schmitt’s Saloon was recently voted Best of Morgantown, Music Venue of 2015. Though Schmitt’s Saloon has been known to bring in nationally touring country artists like Ronnie Dunn, Craig Morgan, Tyler Farr, Jon Pardi, along with many others, they have begun to broaden their musical genres to include bands like Saving Abel, Fuel, Salvia, Eve 6, and will be hosting Sebastian Bach of Skid Row and July 8.
