BELTSVILLE, Md. - June 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Beltsville, MD June 5, 2015 - The new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Prince George’s County (MD) Economic Development Corporation, James (“Jim”) Coleman will make his first public appearance and presentation to a local business organization on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 to the Greater Beltsville Business Association (GBBA).

In his presentation, Mr. Coleman will provide insights and details on his goals and vision for the County.  As the leader of the County's EDC, Coleman’s responsibilities include helping attract and retain major employers, using tools like the County's $50 million Economic Development Incentive Fund as well as guiding efforts to promote the County's designation as a Foreign Trade Zone, encouraging international investment in Prince George's County. Coleman will also guide the organization's workforce development and employment services programs.

Coleman comes to our area after serving as Executive Director of the Westchester County (New York) Industrial Development Agency and Local Development Corporation where he quickly proved himself as one of their premier business advocates and deal makers. He has 32 years of business experience where he worked for corporate firms such as Oscar Mayer & Co., Pepsi Cola Company, Altria Corporation and American Express. He has also worked for the New York State Senate and held several executive leadership positions with entrepreneurial ventures.

The Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation provides business services that help attract, retain and expand businesses, create high-quality jobs, and expand Prince George’s County’s commercial tax base. EDC’s mission of business attraction and expansion is accomplished through Business Development, the Small Business Services/Technical Assistance Center (TAC), International Business Development, Workforce Services and Marketing/Communications.
