Dr. Henry Kissinger, David Cameron and Angela Merkel Speak at the 3rd Global Baku Forum

NEW YORK - June 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Over 200 delegates including former heads of state or government, scientists, politicians and experts drawn from 60 countries across the world gathered in Baku, Azerbaijan for the 3rd Global Baku Forum on 28th and 29th April  2015. The forum discussed some of the most pressing problems facing the world today under the broad theme of 'Building Trust in the New or Emerging World Order'. The event, graced by former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, who are also members of Club de Madrid, brought together former statesmen and women from over 40 countries as well as high profile business elite and public figures.

The agenda for the 3rd Global Baku Forum focused more on addressing frozen conflicts and identifying innovative confidence building and conflict resolution mechanisms to prevent more conflicts.  The forum was aimed at raising awareness on ways of enhancing stability in Europe as well as mobilizing and strengthening Security Community across the region. During this event, attendees exchanged views and ideas on a broad range of issues that destabilize the world in the globalization era. Some topical issues affecting the globe that were featured in forum discussions include terror threats, ethnic conflicts, growth of democracy, environment, education, energy, women in peacebuilding, security and inter-religious dialogue.  Also included in the forum agenda was the award ceremony where the former President of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freibergawere and Co-Chair of Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Ismail Serageldin, were honored with a Gold Medal.
