Daneen grew up singing and performing gospel in church and was lead singer in the family band. Taking time off to raise her family Daneen returned to her love of music and recently embarked on her solo career. She began performing in various jazz clubs, concert venues, and gospel choirs, throughout San Diego and Southern California, working and recording with other well-known artist. She has shared the stage with 2014 Grammy Award Winning producer/pianist Kamau Kenyatta, world-renowned keyboardist/ If you have never heard this San Diego native sing before, get ready for a jaw dropping experience. Her soulful, unique singing voice and her ability to boldly reinvent any material that she confronted into her own music style sets her apart. San Diegans and baseball fans may remember Daneen as the moving vocalist that honored the late Hall of Fame baseball legend Tony Gwynn “Mr. Padre” at his Memorial Celebration Tribute at Petco Park, San Diego, CA in 2014. She gave a heartfelt rendition of “Amazing Grace” that filled the stadium and instantly became the next morning’s headline in local newspapers and national baseball media outlets. Some of baseball’s greatest names were present to include Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig, Reggie Jackson, Steve Garvey, Trevor Hoffman, and Joe Torre, famed sports announcers, Dick Enberg, Bob Costas, and the Gwynn family. The sound of her voice echoed throughout the world before baseball greats, fans, and the Gwynn family. Emulating the classic styles of Ella Fitzgerald infusing colors of Jill Scott, Billie Holiday, Chaka Khan, and Anita Baker Daneen’s approach to hitting each note is all inspiring and engaging. Her personal quote is “A song must not only be heard, but felt.” Expect to listen, feel, and soak in the music as she fulfills her personal quote delivered with an all encompassing passion, emotion, and excitement when she takes the stage. Daneen is working on her new music project to be released later this year.
