US Olympic Wrestler Rob Eiter to host clinic at this Saturday's Olympic Day Youth Jamboree

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - June 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Beat the Streets is pleased to announce that former Olympic Wrestler and current University of Maryland Assistant Coach, Rob Eiter, will be a special guest at this Saturday’s Olympic Day Competition, which will begin promptly at 8:30 am at the MTC (145 Thompson Street).

Rob was a member of the 1996 US Olympic Team that competed in Atlanta and has represented the United States in 9 elite-level international competitions. He also competed in the 1993 and 1995 World Championships.

Eiter is a five-time U.S. Open National Champion and won two silver medals at the World Cup.

His success on the mat has translated directly into a decorated international coaching career. Eiter guided the 1999 United States Women’s Team to a first-place finish at the world championships, marking the first and only time a U.S. women’s team has won a world team title.

In addition, Eiter’s 2007 and 2008 U.S. Junior Women’s World Championship team picked up seven medals, including two gold medals.

Rob will be at the event the entire day and will present awards at the closing ceremonies.

This event is open to all elementary and middle school students residing in New York City with a BTS membership. The event will include a freestyle clinic, Olympic style opening ceremonies, competition, and closing ceremonies.

Students participating will be asked to identify their country of origin and to provide one interesting fact about their native country.
