Sofelle Confections Owner Awarded ‘Top Ten Cake Artist’ by Dessert Professional Magazine

 
ORLANDO, Fla. - June 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Orlando, FL. – Sofelle Confections company owner Lucy Martin has been named a 2015 Top Ten Cake Artist in North America by Dessert Professional Magazine, the nation's leading food service publication for the chocolate, cake, pastry, baking, and frozen desserts industries.

The honorees were selected by editors Tish Boyle and Matthew Stevens.

Chef Martin is known for her detailed and artistic style.  Prior to starting Sofelle Confections she held a full-time Chef Instructor position at the Notter School of Pastry Arts.  Her experience expands over 19 years, including having held the Executive Pastry Chef position at the world’s largest Marriott prior to making a change into education.   She launched her career at the New York Marriott Marquis in 1991 while attending the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan. Chef Martin also apprenticed with Colette’s Cakes in NYC.  She has been an avid competitor in her field including numerous times on Food Network’s Chocolate Challenge.  Over the years, this highly respected and award-wining chef holds one silver and two bronze medals for her awe-inspiring chocolate showpieces and is a silver medal recipient for the Super Team Challenge at the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show. In addition, Chef Lucy Martin was inducted into the Institute of Culinary Education Alumni Hall of Achievement in 2006.
