PUNTO Space to Kick Off Summer with Tasting, Venue Tour and New Partners

NEW YORK, Calif. - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- PUNTO Space, a three-level, storefront upscale event venue founded by Debora Balardini, Duke York and Sandie Luna, will kick off the summer by hosting Taste of PUNTO, a tasting and venue tour, on June 17 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event celebrates a new, exclusive partnerships with Robert Stark Lighting, Crave Caterers and Relish Caterers. The event sponsors include PBG Event Rentals, Total Entertainment, Diva Blooms, Archer New York, Dazian and Heisenberg Blue Ice Vodka and will allow event professionals the opportunity to view four studios and enjoy a taste menu provided by Relish Caterers. Balardini, York and Luna officially launched PUNTO Space in December of 2014. The team shaped the venue to be a creative haven for private events, art happenings and performances under three guiding principles: collaboration, excellence and community. Although PUNTO Space has been available to its clients for less than a year, they have already worked with Anheuser-Busch, Uptown Fashion Week, Double Verify, xAd, Uzo Aduba and Daniela Mastropietro and have received interest from businesses in tech and broadcasting.

Luna, PUNTO’s Director of Business Development, says, “Given Relish Caterers’ repertoire, it was a no-brainer to pursue a relationship with them along with Crave Caterers, whom we also love. Relish, like PUNTO, is a woman-owned establishment and prides itself in providing clients with exceptional service, which is something we strongly believe in. With their extensive list of clients and years in the industry, Robert Stark Lighting seemed to be the best fit for PUNTO’s four studios. Not only do they specialize in special events, they are well versed in theater-related events as well, hence marrying the concept of private events and performances in one venue.”

Balardini, the Director of Artistic Affairs, adds, “We have an artistic background in the performing arts, where it is all about collaboration. Working with the right team is key. Collaboration is a frame of mind, a way to exist, in which you acknowledge the individual strengths and find a way to bring them together for the greater good.”

York, Director of Finances, is an avid believer in teamwork. “Without partnership, PUNTO would never have gotten started. Even more than that, all of us have young children. Because we have three owners to split the work in the spirit of collaboration, we can actually have a business without neglecting what’s really important.”

The founders are currently looking to build strategic partnerships with neighboring venues, hotels and small business to create a community in the heart of Midtown Manhattan’s New York Fashion District. The team is developing a “PUNTO Gives Back Initiative,” which looks to align PUNTO with select non-profit partners to amplify its mission of art education.

Debora Balardini has been performing, teaching, directing and producing for the past thirty years in several countries, including Japan, Argentina, the United States, France, Chile and her native Brazil. She has an extensive dance background in ballet, jazz and tap as well as Hatha yoga. Balardini is a workshop leader and one of the founders and Artistic Directors of the Nettles Artists Collective as well as one of the founders of the only Brazilian theatre companies in New York City, Group .BR. She serves on the board of directors as adviser in the dance programs for the non-profit organization Ayazamana Ecuadorian Cultural Center.

Duke York is the co-founder of PUNTO and a writer engaged in collaborative story-telling for over thirty years. York is a founding member of Nettles Artists Collective and is also CEO of Interlock Commercial Finance, a financial liaison company that connects new and established businesses to funding. With a rich background in the science and arts, York holds a double major in Chemical Engineering and Arts & Literature from Rice University.

Sandie Luna is the Director of Business Development and co-founder of PUNTO Space. She is a self-defined "non-solo artist" whose work is made up of collaboration in multi-disciplinary experimentation with covert references to her cultural and ethnic background. She holds a degree in Theater and Sociology from Florida State University.  For the past ten years she has served as Co-Artistic Director and founder of NYC's Nettles Artists Collective.  She has worked extensively in theater, radio, and TV in both the English and Spanish markets prior to co-founding PUNTO Space and taking on the role of Director of Business Development.
