Pitch-Winning Studio Zoo Strike a Chord with Koo

RANDBURG, South Africa - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Randburg, Johannesburg. 1 June 2015.Studio Zoo, a full-service TV production company based in Randburg, announce the arrival of a new client on their roster – Koo, one of South Africa’s favourite food brands.

Koo have been providing South African homes with quality food products for 75 years. To celebrate this significant milestone, Koo extended a pitch invitation to several companies to produce an internal corporate video focusing on key brand aspects such as Koo’s proud history, their commitment to family, quality and innovation, as well as their plans to move into the online space.

Studio Zoo were invited to pitch based on their reputation of creating high-quality productions based on watertight communication strategies.

Adi Leach, Director of Studio Zoo: “Firstly, we had to get into the Koo headspace, which actually proved quite easy as we’ve all used Koo products over the years. They’ve been around for so long, we inherently know their qualities, their flavours, their heritage. Once we’d tapped into that, we were good to go.”

“Another teething problem was that the budget was fairly restrictive,” said Fred Strydom, a Senior Producer on the team, “so we had to figure out a cost-effective approach that would do the trick.”

Studio Zoo created a solution that merged the nostalgic and historical aspects of the KOO brand with a fresh, youthful and progressive voice. They pitched a dynamic, graphically-produced photo album that would allow KOO to take its viewers down memory lane while at the same time providing functionality for brand-reinforcing images, footage and information. The concept came across as warm and inviting as well as being practical and hardworking.

KOO responded positively to the balance between these tonal aspects and the business was officially handed to Studio Zoo on the 20^th of May 2015. Work has since started in earnest on the production, with the hope of future opportunities for the future.
