MetLife Alico supports RHAS's Healthy Community Clinic

AMMAN, Jordan - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- MetLife Alico supports RHAS's Healthy Community Clinic

MetLife Alico donated 120 Diabetic devices to the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) to support its Healthy Community Clinic program which is running in 11 Health Centers throughout Jordan.

The program aims to build the capacity of participating Health Centers to provide better preventative services to empower patients to manage their chronic diseases and reduce future complications. The Healthy Community Clinic, established within existing Ministry of Health facilities, provides medical practitioners with the training and resources necessary to implement management and prevention-based care to patients in underserved communities.

Activities in the HCC centers include interactive lectures which address health topics of priority such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, allergies, reproductive health, obesity, and the importance of healthy diet, physical activity and smoking cessation.

Mr. Muhannad Shehadeh, CEO of MetLife Alico Jordan, said: “This partnership with (RHAS) is aligned with our company’s corporate social responsibility efforts towards the health and wellbeing of our citizens, and our belief in the importance of raising health awareness within the Jordanian community, and encouraging them to adopt healthy behaviors in order to  reduce the upsurge  of chronic diseases such as Diabetes in the long term.”

Mrs. Enaam Barrishi, Director General of (RHAS), stated: “We believe the partnership between (RHAS) and MetLife Alico is an opportunity for both the private sector and civil society organizations to join efforts towards a healthier Jordan.”

(RHAS) was established in 2005 under the direction of Her Majesty Queen Rania AlAbdullah to promote health and to empower Jordanians to adopt healthy lifestyles and behaviors. (RHAS) interventions are implemented according to the needs of the communities and in line with national health priorities.
