By: CIG Community Safety Saturday According to Matthew Davis, Vice President of GDI Insurance Agency, “This is our fifth year hosting CIG Community Safety Saturday and it is our best event ever! The Sheriff’s Department, Police Department, Fire Department [and] KlaasKids were all here. This event can’t happen without all of these wonderful first responders. It’s kind of a ‘Who’s Who’ of safety. I really want to thank Capital Insurance Group for partnering with GDI Insurance on this event. They make it possible; and together we really put on a nice event.” Many elected officials and their representatives came to the CIG Community Safety Saturday event and presented proclamations and certificates of recognition to CIG Insurance, GDI Insurance Agency and KlaasKids Foundation. Expressing appreciation, Davis said, “It’s wonderful to be recognized by the United States Congress, the California Senate, the City of Turlock and the local Supervisors from the County for this important work! We share the honor with all who participated.” • Dana Ferreira, representing United States Congressman Jeff Denham • Patricia O’Brien, representing California State Senator Tom Berryhill and Assembly Member Kristen Olsen • Supervisor Vito Chiesa from the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors • Matthew Jacob and Amy Bublak on behalf of City of Turlock Mayor Gary Soiseth It wasn’t long before cars started lining up for the child car safety seat inspections, which is always a key activity at Community Safety Saturday. Over 19 free car safety seat inspections were conducted by trained technicians from the Turlock Police Department, California Highway Patrol and other safety organizations. We thank the participating officers for providing this vital service and education.” The KlaasKids Foundation is another important participant at every Community Safety Saturday.
