Knightsbridge Schools International Set to Deliver the First 3D Printed Hands in Panama

PANAMA CITY - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Knightsbridge Schools International Panama (KSI) has announced that it will deliver two (2) 3D printed, prosthetic hands to children who are missing fingers on June 2nd, 2015. These will be the first 3D printed prosthetic devices printed, assembled, fitted and delivered in the Republic of Panama. The event will include demonstrations and Q&A sessions on 3D printed prosthetics. This event is open to the press and guests by request – with limited seating available.

Working with the USA based e-NABLE Community Foundation, KSI Technology Teacher Mickey Keats coordinated the efforts with a team of KSI students and staff, community volunteers and Panama’s Senadis organization. More information about their group can found at http://enablepanama.org.

Google.org has awarded a $600,000 grant to the Enable Community Foundation

San Francisco, California - May 26, 2015 - As part of its $20 million Google Impact Challenge focused on disabilities, Google.org has awarded a $600,000 grant to the Enable Community Foundation to further advance the e-NABLE community's innovative work on 3D-printed open- source prosthetics.

Event Details:

Melina Brown, the Director of Operations for the e-NABLE Community Foundation, will arrive to Panama with Mr. John Wong to participate in the event. Mr. Wong is an e-NABLE Volunteer and 3D printed hand recipient who educates and demonstrates how he uses his 3D printed hand. Panama’s Senadis organization representatives will be on hand with interested physicians to participate in the demonstrations and Q&A.

The two (2) Panamanian boys who will receive 3D printed, prosthetic hands are:

Angel Moreno: Age 13 – from Pese, Chitre
Nabil Manjara Bhikhu: Age 3 – from Panama City, Panama
