RALEIGH, N.C. - June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Emily Parks, owner of Organize for Success, LLC, shared, “Many people might not realize that June begins Hurricane season in North Carolina. However, hurricane preparedness isn’t the only instance when a business needs a continuity of operations plan and/or a crisis management plan. Whether it is hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, fire or a computer virus, as a business owner you need to be prepared for any emergency management.”  Parks continued, “Just because an emergency happens doesn’t meant your business stops. Have you created a continuity of operations plan? Do you have a business recovery plan for a natural disaster?  For some, an emergency may bring an increase in business. Are you prepared to keep up with demand with a crisis management plan?”

Parks’ blog / video series will provide tips for emergency management, strategies for a business recovery plan and productivity tools for a continuity of operations plan. Each post and video will go live Mondays by noon throughout June on the following dates: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.  Each will focus on some form of natural disaster preparedness and emergency management that include but aren’t limited to:

·      How to prepare your business for data issues, including viruses;

·      How to create a business recovery plan for fire;

·      Natural disasters preparedness;

·      Communicating with clients and team members during an emergency situation; and

·      How Evernote can help in emergency management.

Parks continued,  “Practical emergency management and preparation enables you to successfully navigate your business when the unexpected occurs.  For example, you may have external hard drives for your computers, but what happens if there is a natural disaster or fire?  Do you have a cloud or offsite backup plan as well?  Are your employees aware of a business recovery plan or continuity of operations plan?”
