DALLAS - May 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Over the years, Dr. Rick Wallace has made it clear that he is committed to breathing life into black communities in the inner city. The inner city neighborhoods that are occupied predominantly by people of color, are facing a number of perilous challenges that could easily spell the demise of the black race. Dr. Wallace points to the fact that things have never been easy for blacks in this country, but it could be getting much worse in the coming years.

This is why he has developed programs that are designed to engage the most prevalent issues in the black community, such as the lack of black male leadership, the mis-education of black youth, mass incarceration, the devaluation of black life leading to fratricide and more. Programs, such as Talks My Father Never had With Me, the Knowledge Infusion Project and Promising Parents, are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the work that Dr. Wallace in doing in these communities.

The problem that he is having is that financial support from the community is almost non-existent. There is some fanfare surrounding the programs, which would indicate that a substantial number of people believe that the programs are necessary, but the amount of financial support that the programs have received do not correspond with the emotional excitement.

Dr. Wallace has issued the following statement to express his continued commitment to the communities that he is currently working in, and those in which his services have been requested.

“To say that support is lacking when it comes to our efforts to rescue and lift the black community would not sufficiently express the current dilemma. Rather than attempt to provide an explanation for the lack of support or to become assaultive out of frustration, I would rather take this time to reconfirm my commitment to this cause.

Unfortunately, we operate from a paradigm that expects action without resources, and this has the capacity to cripple any movement. I don’t control those variables, so I will not give them any significant time. What I will do is continue to fight with what I have. The people in these communities need us, and we will be there. Our fundraising efforts will continue and hopefully we will begin to see an increase in donor support; however, if not, we must find a way to press forward, and we will.”

As the media continues to report an escalation in violence in the black community, Dr. Wallace reveals that we must not lose sight of why we are where we are at this moment. He says, “We must be aware of the machinations of white supremacy, but we must also be willing to have accountability for the ways in which we are culpable for our condition.” He makes it clear that it is black compliance and inactivity that has given white supremacy its power, and it will be non-compliance and proactive engagement that will shift the tides of this war.
