NEW YORK - May 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Dominic (Dom) Scala: Dom Scala is a former bullpen coach of the New York Yankees and is currently the Head Coach for Adelphi University's baseball team.

Dom Scala came to Adelphi with an impressive professional and collegiate career. Drafted in the 6th round by the Oakland A's in 1976, he was acquired by the NY Yankees as the Bullpen Coach from 1978-1986. During his nine-year stint with the Yankees, he was a member of the 1978 World Championship and the 1981 American League Championship teams and worked with such legendary coaches as Yogi Berra, Billy Martin, Gene Michael, Jeff Torborg and the late Dick Howser.

From 1987-1990, he became the Advance Major League Scout and Special Assignment Scout of the Pittsburgh Pirates under Jim Leyland. In addition to maintaining his own baseball camps since 1990, he has served as director of many others, including NY Mets camp and the Dave Winfield camp.

Prior to Adelphi he served as the third base coach for St. Mary High School, a team that hadn't won a single catholic high school game in its seven years existence. In 2003, they won three games, including upsetting No. 1 seed Chaminade in the first round of the Catholic High School League playoffs.

A standout athlete in both football and baseball at St. Francis Prep, Scala was elected to the school's Hall of Fame in its inaugural 2013 class. He went on to play third base at St. John's University from 1972-76. A collegiate third team All-American and two-time ECAC All-Star, his name still appears in the top ten collegiate career record books in nine of 13 offensive categories. A team captain, he batted .420 his senior year, good for 15th in the nation, and was named the team MVP.

Scala is also the Development Coordinator and has been instrumental in many large university projects, including the building of William J. Bonomo Memorial Field. Scala helped raise funds for the state-of-the-art baseball field which was opened in 2007 and continues to aid in sponsorship and field signage efforts. Scala has also taken on the duty of organizing the annual Fall Cocktail Reception, a trademark event put on by the Adelphi athletic department that has featured high-profile guests such as Willie Randolph, Goose Gossage, David Cone and Bucky Dent. Sammy Albano: is veteran New York television journalist, who's been in the business since his graduation from St. John's University in 1975.  Immediately after graduation, Mr. Albano joined the CBS News Magazine 60 Minutes as a production assistant working under CBS News icon, Don Hewitt. Mr. Albano became an Editor of Electronic News Gathering for CBS News and traveled extensively covering international and national news stories for the Tiffany Network. Sammy Albano was one of the few journalist to work pre-embargo Cuba in 1983.

Mr. Albano also produced sports coverages for the CBS Newspath, producing and editing syndicated highlights for the network's late night feed and news broadcast, Nightwatch. Sammy Albano also covered St. John's University basketball during the school's glory run in the 1980's. Coverage of World Series, Super Bowl Final Fours and local New York professional teams highlighted his sports producing career. He was awarded the 1988 Sports Executive of the Year by Wheel Chair Charities in association with then Goldwater Hospital on Roosevelt Island.

Upon leaving CBS, Albano formed the Maven Media Group, which specializes in coverage of college athletics. Sammy Albano followed Georgetown University's historic Final Four run in 2006-07 and won Telly Awards in 2008 and 2009 for his syndicated magazine show "Inside The BIG EAST". Colleges such as St.John's University, Hofstra and Villanova have used Mr. Albano to produce their coaches shows. High profile coaches and athletes are on a daily routine of phone calls with Mr. Albano.

An avid runner, Albano is involved with Hope thru Hoops a basketball related  9/11 Charity and Ozanam Nursing Home.

Ms. Broderick completed her TV Producer’s Certification at Manhattan Neighborhood Network and launched her own talk/variety show, GingerNewYork. Segments of the show are aired LIVE at the MNN studios and taped at the Gibson Guitar showroom/Rehearsal Studios in New York City.

Broderick is a faculty member of Queens College/CUNY Continuing Education Program. Broderick obtained a B.S. degree in accounting from St. John’s University in New York City and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York.
