The Truth About James Goetz New Jersey Part 1

May 29, 2015 - PRLog -- All stories are not created equal. Some stories are created to entertain. Others are created for profit. Some do both. However these stories are not necessarily true and often take liberties regarding the facts, deemed unethical by those with character. Unreflective through beginning thinkers simply live a shallow life of gossip.

In 2009, the City of Lakeland lost an important individual. James Goetz (Florida) was unjustly scrutinized and driven out. He has kept constant his mouth shut, been beaten and crucified. He has been unable to speak the amazing truth, as it is not a fight he can win. He has too much to lose and has too much to accomplish, which has nothing remotely related to any difficulties arising in Florida. Because of this, this chapter of his life appears closed for over half a decade now. "I never want to look back. There is not good there, only evil (James Goetz Florida)".

Goetz moved to Lakeland in 2004 at 23 years of age, in order to renovate a dilapidated house. Goetz, who did not so much as own a hammer at the time and admits he was fooled (the first of many times- lesson learned) into purchasing the home, had stated he had no business in renovating a house at that time, especially one in such disrepair.

Shortly thereafter, he was married and moved to Lakeland full time.

Goetz did not belong in Lakeland or Florida for that matter. There are certain cultures that do not necessarily mix. A fast paced northerner with lofty goals and aspirations typically do not gel with southern culture.

In an attempt to fit in, he took a job coaching the young men of the Kathleen High School wrestling team. Goetz had never wrestled or coached wrestling previous to this. However, with his professional strength and conditioning experience combined with his experience playing for the University of Tampa baseball team, he (James Goetz Florida) and Coach Dail changed the team from non- existent to a formidable and highly successful force. Goetz demanded all student athletes sign contracts in order to make them accountable for their actions on the mat, in the classroom and at home. He also demanded daily study halls, tutoring (if necessary) and had the team wear shirts and ties to each match. Many of these young men quickly went from failing out of school to honor roll students and became role models in the school and their community. Though Goetz was very demanding, the student athletes always felt they could talk with him about anything...and they did.

Once Goetz left, this all changed. The teams' record suffered as well as their grades. Without his sense of professionalism and work ethic, the team and school went back downhill. Dail left shortly after as well.

While Goetz was at Kathleen, he was desperately attempting to sell his house. Do to an outside source, he was unfortunately unable to. Goetz knew he did not belong and had to get out. He was stuck and appeared to be suffocating in Florida.

What does anyone do when they cannot leave somewhere they do not want to be? Most would simply run away. James Goetz ran for public office.

Goetz's choice was to change what he did not like. It was a courageous and admirable decision he most likely regrets. As he attempted to change things to meet his comfort he unknowingly ruffled the feathers of the people who were comfortable.

James Goetz once said he wanted to be President of the United States. Had he had the opportunity, he may have done a decent job of it. A registered Independent with Republican ideals and union support is quite confusing. Had he taken some years to learn politics, perhaps work on another campaign and learn about people, things would have been different. He obviously had no business running for public office at this time. However, he appears he did more for the City of Lakeland in one rookie campaign than his opponent had done in multiple terms.

A show of his mindful ways can be depicted by his actions, which occurred after a wedding ceremony in Lakeland. After the reception, Goetz and wife went back to their home. Some friends accompanied them to watch a game on television. One of them, riding a motorcycle, parked his vehicle in their garage. After a while, there was a knock on their door. It was the police. A neighbor had called in a complaint stating the driver of the motorcycle was driving too fast. By the time the officer arrived, the guests had departed. The driver of the motorcycle, having too much to drink, left the bike for the evening and was driven home.

The officers harassed Goetz and his pregnant wife, attempting to force entry into their residence and searching their garage for the bike, without permission. The Goetz family was upset.

James Goetz was determined to correct this injustice. Before calling internal affairs, he spoke with his old University of Tampa college roommate and also his childhood best friend, who were both police officers (in other parts of the country). They both urged him not to file a report and let it go.

Goetz took their advice and instead, enrolled in the Lakeland Citizens Police Academy, in order to gain an understanding and appreciation of the jobs and duties of the Lakeland police department. He learned the ins and outs and the dynamics of being a police officer. While what happened to Goetz and his wife will never be considered acceptable, he was able to develop an appreciation within Lakeland for the job of the officers and graduated, earning his patch and certificate.
