Mike has been with GeoInsight since 1993 and he is currently the Director of Engineering for the company. He is a Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, and Maine, and a Licensed Site Professional in Massachusetts.
Mr. Penney has also served as an expert witness on many different matters including those related to stormwater. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. degree in civil engineering and has since spent his last 29 years in private consulting working on geotechnical, stormwater, civil, environmental remediation, and landfill projects for a wide variety of clients.

Mr. Penney's work assignments and responsibilities have enabled him to be directly involved in thousands of site investigations and evaluations throughout New England. As a result of his experiences, he has completed an extensive variety of geotechnical, civil and geoenvironmental projects including preparation of compliance reports and technical deliverables; stormwater control, collection, and treatment system designs; permitting of site development, solid waste, drainage, and wetlands projects; preparation of technical specifications and bid packages; oversight of surface water and groundwater sampling and monitoring programs; dam and slope stability assessment and improvements; oversight of sitework construction and remediation operations; and foundations, sitework, ground improvement, and grading designs.
