NAIOP NJ’s McGuinness to be honored by American Conference on Diversity

WEST ORANGE, N.J. - May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Michael McGuinness, chief executive officer of the New Jersey Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, will be honored at the 2015 American Conference on Diversity Annual Commercial Real Estate Luncheon. The event will take place Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 a.m. at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, N.J.

A non-profit agency headquartered in New Jersey, the American Conference on Diversity is committed to empowering individuals and institutions to address issues of bias and discrimination and advocate for meaningful social change in the community. The agency has been providing human relations, diversity, and inclusion trainings, workshops, programs, and events throughout New Jersey and neighboring areas since 1948.

McGuinness and NAIOP New Jersey have supported the work of the American Conference on Diversity for many years. NAIOP has close to 700 members representing developers, owners, asset managers and investors of commercial real estate including office, industrial, mixed-use and retail properties.

“As CEO of NAIOP and on a personal level, I share the agency’s values of promoting understanding and respect among all races, religions and cultures,” said McGuinness. “I am proud to be recognized and to acknowledge this honor on behalf of our entire association and each of our members.”

McGuinness oversees the operations and programs of the commercial real estate association and works in consultation with the officers and board of trustees to carry out NAIOP’s mission. He is a registered legislative agent, directs the advocacy program and manages the Developers Political Action Committee (DPAC). In addition, McGuinness currently serves as an advisor to and kitchen cabinet member of Governor Christie’s Choose New Jersey. He is a founding member of the Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition, a trustee and environmental chair of the New Jersey Society for Environmental, Economic Development (NJ SEED), and also chairs the Economic Competitiveness Committee for the North Jersey Sustainable Communities Consortium.
