He’s presently the owner and instructor of a yoga business, school psychologist, cultivation and processing medical marijuana establishment (MME) owner, an MME dispensary manager, and previous owner of a popular downtown Las Vegas music venue and bar. Sturtsman goes onto say, “I cover the spectrum of body, mind and serving spirits, and I’m trying to improve the lives of others by creating feelings of well-being while increasing physical health. The public has a heightened awareness about the medicinal qualities of cannabis, which is causing laws to finally be changed. I have started leveraging these connections with my education and experience, which has helped provide a better understanding for media audiences.” Prior to his position as board member, Sturtsman completed his studies at Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Cannabis Training Institute (CTI) Core Cannabis Training Program in 2014 to further his industry education. He has been a medical marijuana cardholder since 2006 and attended Oaksterdam University’s Basic 101 course in 2009, learning about politics, legal issues, horticulture, ingestion, and bud-tending. He went back to Oaksterdam in 2010, attending their Advanced 102 course on “canna-business” As a managing partner of Silver State Farms, LLC within HOPE, LLC (a company licensed by the state of Nevada for MJ cultivation and processing), he was instrumental in creating the comprehensive identified and non-identified application for Division license approval. “I’ve honed my skills over the last six years growing my own medicine, and plan to fully utilize all my accrued knowledge personally and professional to act as a representative of Nevada's commercial cannabis operations in the media,” Sturtsman states.
