By: Visit Rainier Over the next two years, 100 new geocaches will be placed around Mt. Rainier National Park and its gateway communities to celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service in 2016. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
