Trisha Farmer Elected to State Bar of Arizona’s IP Section’s Executive Council

PHOENIX - May 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Trisha Farmer (http://www.swlaw.com/attorneys/trisha_farmer), an attorney in the Phoenix office, has been elected to the State Bar of Arizona’s Intellectual Property Section’s Executive Council (http://www.azbar.org/sectionsandcommittees/sections/intellectualproperty), effective June 26, 2015.

The Executive Council coordinates all activities for the Intellectual Property Section, including monthly meetings, CLE presentations and the annual meeting and presentation at the State Bar Convention. The mission of the Intellectual Property Section is to maintain a high standard of professional ethics in the practice of the profession of patent and associated fields of law; to aid in the development of patent, trademark and copyright laws; to take action concerning amendments to those laws and the Rules of Practice of the Patent Office; to protect the administration of such laws; and to provide a medium where exchanges of viewpoint may be had with persons and organizations having related interests. Offering 28 sections of law, the State Bar of Arizona has over 17,600 active attorneys, a third of them being involved in at least one section.

At Snell & Wilmer, Farmer’s practice is concentrated in intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, legal ethics and professional responsibility. She has experience with patent infringement matters in various fields, including software development, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, sod harvesting machinery and laser hologram technology. Farmer also has experience with trademark and trade dress infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. She has represented clients in general commercial litigation matters, including matters involving breach of contract, breach of implied warranty, tortious interference with business and other business torts. Farmer has been involved in representing clients in bar complaint matters and in advising clients on professional responsibility policies.
