This membership will help both Microsoft and GSI to educate utilities on the safety and benefits of cloud computing.

Acquiring Gold Competency will help in supporting utilities like American Electric Power (AEP) who currently uses GSI Scout (http://www.gsiworks.com/products/damage-assessment/) on Microsoft Azure (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/), a module of the GSI AssetManager (http://www.gsiworks.com/products/) suite, which allows assessors and patrollers to record equipment damage and restoration requirements in the field. It sends the assessment data to dispatchers without radio traffic and assists all stakeholders with seamless communication for optimal service restoration.
