While most Relay for Life groups engage in traditional fund raising activities, Sweeney Mae, Thanhdi Nguyen, and Latonya Washington decided to take on a bigger task of producing a fashion show featuring cancer survivors on the runway. Cancer survivors and caregivers will be featured on the runway wearing the latest trends in fashion. Their stories will be narrated in hopes of inspiring others to stay strong and to finish the fight. About Carmeli Bangtug. At a young age, this creative woman has already known that she wanted to become a fashion designer. It was her mother who first introduced her to the world of glitter and glamour, and the esteemed world of fashion. Bantug is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. Since then, she has become an accomplished woman in the industry, having opened ateliers in both Manila and Bacolod. Buntug is one of the leading designers in Bacolod where she is frequently invited to participate in Bacolod Fashion Week and Masskara Fashion Week. Bantug’s collections consist of fabricated, delicate and feminine pieces for both the modern and classical woman. She specializes in evening wear and bridal gowns. End
