The Survivors Fashion Show Brings International Designer to Hollywood Runway

LOS ANGELES - May 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA (May 22, 2015): The 2nd Annual Survivors Fashion Show is making waves in the Hollywood fashion scene as one of the most inspiring event during the BET Live weekend. Held on June 25, 2015 at the Taglyan Complex (1201 N. Vine St., Los Angeles CA, 90038), The Survivors Fashion Show will celebrate survivors and caregivers by narrating their stories as they walk the runway. Philippine native and fashion designer Carmeli Bantug will showcase an exclusive line inspired by her mother, who lost her battle to cancer.

“I’m honored and excited to take part in this very inspiring event. I wish my mom were still around to see me honor her in Hollywood. I am creating a brand new collection of cocktail dresses and smart casual pieces ideal for garden or casual weddings inspired by my mother’s classy style.” Bantug stated.

“We can’t wait to showcase Carmeli Bantug on the Survivors Fashion Show. This takes our show to the next level only on our 2^nd year of production.” Sweeney Mae, co-producer of the show stated.

Part of the proceeds of The Survivors Fashion Show will benefit The American Cancer Society Relay for Life and the Cancer Concierge Network.

VIP: $150 – best seats, includes three course meal, wine, and swag bag (dinner begins at 7pm)

PREFFERED SEATS: $100 – second best seat and includes three course meal (dinner begins at 7pm)

GENERAL ADMISSION: $50 – dinner not included and entry begins at 8pm

About The Survivors Fashion Show.Events in the City LA produce a heartwarming gala benefiting American Cancer Society Relay for Life. While most Relay for Life groups engage in traditional fund raising activities, Sweeney Mae, Thanhdi Nguyen, and Latonya Washington decided to take on a bigger task of producing a fashion show featuring cancer survivors on the runway. About Carmeli Bangtug. At a young age, this creative woman has already known that she wanted to become a fashion designer. It was her mother who first introduced her to the world of glitter and glamour, and the esteemed world of fashion. Bantug is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. Since then, she has become an accomplished woman in the industry, having opened ateliers in both Manila and Bacolod. Buntug is one of the leading designers in Bacolod where she is frequently invited to participate in Bacolod Fashion Week and Masskara Fashion Week. Bantug’s collections consist of fabricated, delicate and feminine pieces for both the modern and classical woman. She specializes in evening wear and bridal gowns.
