Follow on Google News | Foundation for Exceptional Kids to host Wine-Tasting FundraiserExperience children’s museum while sampling wines and contributing to a good cause.
This event’s unique setting inside the Halle Heart Children’s Museum provides each guest’s inner child a night out for exploring and fun. The gala will feature samplings of a variety of local wines from Jerome winery Cellar 433. The talented Chef Kelly Fletcher, a star on the local culinary scene, will be creating the hors d’oeuvres for this special evening. While sampling wines, guests will be treated to the acoustical styling of musician Chuck Morriss of Chuck E. Baby and the Allstars and have the opportunity to shop the dozens of silent auction items from local businesses. “The Wine Tasting Event is our main fund raising activity for the year,” said Jessica Irwin, Foundation for Exceptional Kids President. “The dollars raised from this event help to fund Camp Runamuk, a therapeutic overnight family camp for families with children with special needs, such as Autism or Down syndrome. It is the Foundation’s objective to continue to make this unique and beneficial experience low cost and accessible for families. In addition to funding camp scholarships and Camp Runamuk, this event helps fund educational programs within the community, additional supports and services for families, and events that support and unite the special needs community like the A Special Day at the Museum event that was held this past February for families and their children. Tickets are limited and available for $50/individual or $80/couple at the Foundation for Exceptional Kids’ website www.forexceptionalkids.com through May 29, 2015. The Foundation for Exceptional Kids has a fundraising goal of $20,000 for the event. The Foundation for Exceptional Kids is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with developmental disabilities and strengthening the local special needs’ community. We provide educational programs that empower families, contribute to community supports and services, and create nourishing events that unite a community.
