LONG ISLAND, N.Y. - May 22, 2015 - PRLog -- A brand new adventure business that caters to animal lovers and luxury travel called Destination Animal Sanctuary will kick off this summer on Long Island, N.Y., with their first tour starting with For the Love of Horses!  Jennifer Ross an avid animal lover, strategic marketing entrepreneur and Long Island native who has been on many animal adventure tours across the country, started Destination Animal Sanctuary.

“I wanted to start educational, fun and meaningful tours for people that love animals like I do, and be able to give back to these incredible non-profit organizations at the same time,” said Jennifer Ross, Founder of Destination Animal Sanctuary. “Kicking off the tour on Long Island to bring people to visit some of our extraordinary equine facilities that give back, rescue and help people is very exciting! Long Island is still horse country, and I think many of us forget that.”

For the Love of Horses is a day-cation adventure tour across Long Island where horse lovers and wine lovers can hop on a bus and go to 2 different, yet equally amazing non-for-profit horse organizations and a winery.  Tour guests will get a hands on equine experience, a gourmet lunch, wine tasting and even pick up local produce at a farm stand stop on Long Island’s bucolic country side – all while being chauffeured around for the day.

The first stop is at Pal-o-mine Equestrian Center in Islandia, N.Y., which is a non-profit organization that offers therapeutic equine program that facilitates growth, learning and healing in adults and children with mental or physical disabilities.  Each guest will be asked to participate in an equine activity that is done at Pal-O-Mine to learn and understand what they do at their facility, however no riding is involved. Guests will be amazed at how the horses can sense the difference in children or adults needs and how they are a tremendous help for them and their given ailments.  Many of the horses in their care were rescued from dire situations and now providing incredible loving care and therapy to people.

After the inspirational morning at Pal-O-Mine, the 2nd stop of the tour is at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard and Horse Rescue in Baiting Hollow, N.Y.  Guests will soak in the countryside for a gourmet lunch and after sample three wine tastings while overlooking the horse rescue and sanctuary on the premises.  After lunch, guests will enjoy a guided tour of the absolutely stunning horse rescue farm to learn why this rescue was started, meet the beautiful horses like Angel and Mirage, learn their stories – and how they became the namesakes of the vineyards most popular wines.

On the way back home the bus will stop at a favorite farm stand that has locally harvested seasonal produce grown on Long Island’s north shore in Suffolk County.

A portion of the proceeds for this event will go to help both Pal-O-Mine and Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard and Horse Rescue.  The cost to attend this one-day tour is $120 per person and there is a limit of 52 people per tour.  The dates to choose from are: Thursday, July 23, 2015 or Thursday, August 13, 2015.  For more information please go to www.DestinationAnimalSanctuary.com or email Jennifer Ross at activ@optonline.net.
