PORTAGE, Ind. - May 21, 2015 - PRLog -- In late April, Local 1005 of the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) volunteered for Rebuilding Together in Portage. Rebuilding Together is a nationwide initiative that provides home rehabilitation to homeowners in need.

Seventeen Local 1005 members donated labor and tools to make needed repairs on homes in Portage.

“We have members throughout all of the communities in Northwest Indiana. Our members are proud of where they live and are more than willing to give up a weekend for a good cause,” commented Eric Yuhasz, IKORCC Representative. “Members of the IKORCC are a vital part of their communities. We want to see our communities flourish, and we are willing to help anyone in anyway to do so.”

“It’s very rewarding to pay forward an action that benefits an individual or family and makes their lives a bit easier,” commented Scott Cooley, IKORCC Representative. “The IKORCC as a whole puts a lot into our volunteer projects, and we are so proud to offer our talents and expertise to a fantastic project.”

The IKORCC volunteers for Rebuilding Together across the state, and Union Locals volunteer in local communities where they reside.
